FBR beats 2-month tax target by Rs12bn

September 01, 2026 (MLN): The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected Rs1,722 billion in taxes during the first two months of FY27, exceeding the two-month tax collection target of Rs1,710bn by Rs12bn, sources said.
During August 2026, the FBR collected Rs902 billion in
taxes, marking a 2% year-on-year increase. However, the August collection
remained Rs28bn below the monthly target of Rs930bn.
The FBR’s tax collection during July and August 2026 was 5%
higher compared to the same period last year.
The FBR also issued Rs155bn in tax refunds during the first
two months of FY27, which was Rs31bn more than the refunds issued during the
same period last year.
