July 07, 2026 (MLN): Engro Vopak Terminal Limited (EVTL) has partnered with S&P Global Energy to conduct a feasibility study for expanding Pakistan’s LPG infrastructure, including the potential development of the country’s first refrigerated LPG import and storage facility.
The initiative aims to strengthen Pakistan’s LPG supply chain by enhancing import capacity, increasing storage capabilities, and enabling access to larger global LPG cargo volumes amid rising energy demand and declining domestic gas production, according to the Press Release issued today.
EVTL said Pakistan’s LPG consumption has witnessed steady growth over the past decade and is expected to continue increasing as households, commercial users, and industries increasingly rely on LPG as an energy source.
The feasibility assessment will evaluate the development of large-scale refrigerated LPG infrastructure to improve supply chain resilience, provide greater flexibility in sourcing from international markets, and support long-term energy security.
Syed Ammar Shah, CEO of Engro Vopak and Engro Elengy Terminal Limited, said strengthening LPG supply chains and expanding access to global markets will become increasingly important as Pakistan’s energy requirements evolve.
He added that the collaboration combines the global expertise of Royal Vopak of the Netherlands with Engro’s engineering capabilities and local market understanding to explore infrastructure solutions aligned with international practices and Pakistan’s future energy needs.
