Engro Holdings completes buyback of 36m shares

October 26, 2026 (MLN): The buyback programme for ordinary shares of Engro Holdings Limited (PSX: ENGROH) has been completed, with 36,231,994 shares, or about 3.009% of the issued and paid-up share capital, purchased during the purchase period. The purchase period closed on October 25, 2026.

The purchase period began on May 7, 2026 and was set to run until October 25, 2026 (both days inclusive), or until the purchase was complete, whichever came first. The members had approved the buyback through a special resolution on April 28, 2026, and the public announcement followed on April 30.

The approved buyback covered up to 45 million ordinary shares with a face value of Rs10 each, about 3.73% of the company’s total outstanding shares. The shares were bought through the Pakistan Stock Exchange at the spot or current market rate. The purchase was made in cash out of distributable profits.

The shares bought back will be cancelled in line with applicable laws and the members’ approval. The company said the buyback would improve cash flow per share and give an exit opportunity to members who wish to liquidate their investments.
