DCO to expand footprint in Pakistan

October 19, 2025 (MLN): The Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) is set to expand its footprint in Pakistan following a meeting between Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Dr. Hajar El Haddaoui, Director General of the DCO, held in Washington D.C.

During the meeting, Senator Aurangzeb reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to the DCO’s mission of fostering inclusive digital growth and cross-border collaboration.

He briefed Dr El Haddaoui on Pakistan’s ongoing digital transformation journey and highlighted the government’s focus on building a resilient and inclusive digital economy.

The Minister outlined three key verticals driving Pakistan’s digital agenda, information technology, payment rails, and the digitization of all government payments.

He underscored the need for capacity building, digital skills development, and the creation of inclusive frameworks to ensure technological advancements benefit all segments of society.

Welcoming DCO’s decision to enhance its presence in Pakistan, Senator Aurangzeb expressed confidence that the move would further strengthen regional cooperation and foster innovation across the digital ecosystem.
