November 05, 2025 (MLN): The Field Enforcement Unit (FEU) Rakhni, under the Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement) Quetta, has seized smuggled foreign-origin cigarettes worth Rs38.5 million, foiling a major smuggling attempt near Rakhni.

Acting on credible intelligence, a Hino truck (Reg. No. TTD-853) ostensibly carrying coal was intercepted, leading to the recovery of 188 cartons of foreign-origin cigarettes valued at Rs23.5m, while the vehicle itself was worth Rs15m.

The confiscated goods and vehicle have been moved to the customs warehouse for legal action under the Customs Act, 1969.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) commended the Rakhni enforcement team for their effective operation and reaffirmed its resolve to curb smuggling, protect national revenue, and promote legitimate trade in Pakistan.
