December 24, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan Customs enforcement units seized smuggled vehicles, goods, and narcotics with a combined estimated value of more than Rs470 million during separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Over the past ten days, dealing a significant blow to smuggling and narcotics networks.

In Peshawar, the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement confiscated 19 non-duty-paid (NDP) vehicles along with assorted smuggled goods, with a total assessed value of around Rs197m, according to the press release.

The seized vehicles including Toyota Land Cruiser, Aqua, Vitz, Fielder, Honda Vezel, Honda Grace, Land Rover, and Suzuki Jimny were valued at approximately Rs110m, showing continued demand for illegally imported vehicles in domestic markets.

Customs officials also recovered smuggled goods worth about Rs87.66m during the same operations.

These included silver bullion, fabrics, black tea, cigarettes, cigarette paper, medicines, and auto parts, items frequently linked to revenue leakage and unfair competition for local manufacturers and legal importers.

In a separate operation at the Khurkhera Customs Check Post, staff intercepted a Hino truck traveling on the Zhob–Quetta route and recovered 109.5 kilograms of hashish concealed within the vehicle.

The narcotics were assessed at an estimated international value of Rs273m, while the truck used for transportation was valued at around Rs15m.

Both the drugs and the vehicle were taken into custody, and investigations are ongoing.

The seizures highlight the scale of illicit trade across key transit routes and border areas.

Smuggling of vehicles, consumer goods, and narcotics continues to pose risks to national revenue, market stability, and public safety.

Customs authorities say enforcement actions remain focused on disrupting supply chains involved in non-duty-paid vehicles, contraband goods, and drug trafficking.
