June 24, 2025 (MLN): China has urged Iran and Israel to return to the path of political resolution, following the announcement of a ceasefire proposal by U.S. President Donald Trump on the twelfth day of conflict between the two nations.

"The Chinese side calls on relevant parties to return to the correct path of political resolution at an early date," stated foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun.

President Trump confirmed that a ceasefire was in force and urged both countries “not to violate it.”

In response, the Israeli government announced its agreement to the U.S.-proposed ceasefire, saying it had neutralized the "dual existential threat" posed by Iran's nuclear program and ballistic missiles.

However, Israel cautioned it would “respond forcefully” to any violations by Iran.

Commenting further, China expressed hope that the ceasefire could be achieved swiftly, as APP reported.

"The facts have proven that military means cannot bring peace and dialogue and negotiations are the right path to solving problems," Guo added.

He emphasized that China is prepared to work with the international community to help maintain peace and stability in the Middle East.
