Chashma Sugar begins Ethanol Plant upgrade at DI Khan unit

April 21, 2026 (MLN): Chashma Sugar Mills Limited (PSX: CHAS) has initiated a modernization program for its plant and machinery, including the installation of molecular sieves at its ethanol fuel facility in Ramak, Dera Ismail Khan.

The upgrade at the company’s Unit-II ethanol plant is part of its broader growth and expansion strategy, the company said in a notice.

The company did not disclose the financial outlay or timeline for completion of the modernization project.

Chashma Sugar Mills operates multiple facilities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including sugar production, ethanol fuel processing, and flour milling divisions.

The development comes as Pakistan’s sugar sector continues to diversify into ethanol production, driven by export demand and efforts to improve value addition in the commodity cycle.
