CFA Society Pakistan honors Ministry of Finance for Public Debt Transaction

November 12, 2025 (MLN): The Ministry of Finance
(MoF), Government of Pakistan, has achieved a historic milestone, being
recognized for the first time at the CFA Society Pakistan 22nd Annual
Excellence Awards 2025 with a Special Award for Public Debt Transaction.
The award honors Pakistan’s first-ever early debt payoff, a landmark step that strengthened the country’s debt profile and reduced the interest burden on taxpayers, according to Khurram Schehzad, who shared the development on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
The recognition
reflects disciplined fiscal management, an active debt strategy, and strong
market engagement by the Ministry.
This achievement marks a proud moment for the Debt Management Office and all institutions contributing to Pakistan’s economic stability. It symbolizes a shift from managing debt to actively improving Pakistan’s financial future.
