February 04, 2026 (MLN):  The Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises (CCoSOEs) has approved the Procurement Policy 2025 of the Export-Import (EXIM) Bank of Pakistan and endorsed several key board-level appointments across major public sector institutions.

The committee also approved a restructuring plan for the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), allowing it to retain its core functions as a lean “centre of excellence” focused on promoting Brand Pakistan, tourism marketing, intergovernmental coordination and policy support.

It further directed the relevant ministry to submit a separate proposal on funding and asset management.

The meeting was held at the Finance Division under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb. Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry attended virtually, along with secretaries and senior officials from concerned ministries, divisions and regulatory authorities, according to a press release issued.

During the session, the committee approved agenda items from the Ministry of Commerce, including the appointment of a Chairman and an Independent Director to the Board of the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL), filling a vacant Independent Director position on the Board of the State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC), and appointing an Independent Director to the Board of the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP).

The EXIM Bank procurement policy was cleared in line with the State-Owned Enterprises Act 2023, PPRA regulations and Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) global standards.
