Bitcoin finds its footing at $82,000 as Iran fears ease

October 09, 2026 (MLN): Bitcoin rebounded to $82,000 on Friday as the broader crypto market recovered from late-Thursday lows, with US President Donald Trump's comments easing fears of an imminent American strike on Iran.

President Trump said the US would not attack Iran before the midterm elections on November 3.

Currently, Bitcoin is up 0.84% to $82,640, according to data reported by Mettis Global.

In a Truth Social post, President Trump said Washington would not be attacking Iran at any time before the midterms, which are due in the US on November 3.

He described discussions with Iran as productive, but made clear that the US blockade would remain in full force and effect.

The remarks proved a turning point for the market.

Selling in bitcoin appeared to run out of steam near $80,300 after the post, and prices have since recovered steadily to $82,000, according to CoinDesk.

Other major tokens followed a similar trajectory.

Ether, XRP, Solana and several other cryptocurrencies trimmed the losses they had suffered on Thursday, as sentiment improved across the market on the easing of geopolitical worries.
