July 17, 2026 (MLN): A leading Dutch home textile company, The Beddinghouse, is set to establish a permanent corporate presence in Pakistan, investing in skilled human capital and partnering in circular textile innovation.

The company is finalising the establishment of its first corporate office in Lahore and has initiated the recruitment of senior Pakistani professionals to lead its local operations.

Having sourced textile products from Pakistan for several decades, the company now regards Pakistan as a strategic partner for future growth rather than merely a sourcing destination.

The Beddinghouse also unveiled its "Circular Dreams" initiative, aimed at developing a circular textile value chain by converting post-consumer textile waste collected in the Netherlands into recycled yarns and finished products through Pakistan's advanced textile manufacturing ecosystem.

Company executives observed that Pakistan's vertically integrated textile industry, technical expertise and growing focus on sustainability make it well-positioned to become a key partner in Europe's transition towards a circular economy, according to the press release.

The Beddinghouse Chief Executive Officer Ms. Henriëtte van Beynum appreciated the significant progress made by Pakistani textile manufacturers in renewable energy, water stewardship, emissions reduction, social compliance, workforce development and women's empowerment, describing these developments as enhancing Pakistan's competitiveness in global markets.

The development came during a meeting between Pakistan's Ambassador to the Netherlands, Syed Haider Shah, and the CEO at the Head Office of The Beddinghouse in Lisse, The Netherlands.

Welcoming the company's expansion plans, Ambassador Syed Haider Shah termed the decision a strong vote of confidence in Pakistan's textile industry and a reflection of the country's growing reputation as a reliable and sustainable manufacturing partner.

He said the Embassy would continue to facilitate stronger business-to-business partnerships and connect Dutch companies with investment opportunities in Pakistan's priority sectors.

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan welcomed the development, saying it reflected the success of the Government's policy of strengthening economic diplomacy and promoting value-added exports.

"The decision by a leading Dutch company to expand its footprint in Pakistan is a strong endorsement of our textile industry's competitiveness, resilience and commitment to sustainability.

It is also a testament to the dedicated efforts of our Embassy in The Hague under Ambassador Syed Haider Shah and Trade & Investment Counsellor Muhammad Shafiq Haider Virk, who have been actively building strategic partnerships and creating new opportunities for Pakistani businesses in the Netherlands.

The Government remains committed to facilitating such collaborations that generate investment, create skilled employment and enhance Pakistan's value-added exports," the Minister said.
