Bata to merge Maraka factory into Batapur facility

May 22, 2026 (MLN): Bata Pakistan Limited (PSX:BATA) has approved the consolidation of its Maraka Factory, 26-km Multan Road, Lahore into its Batapur Factory on G.T. Road, Lahore, creating a single integrated production facility at Batapur.

The decision was taken in the company's 528th emergent board meeting held on May 22, 2026,  the company’s filing on PSX revealed today.

 The move is part of Bata Global's broader strategy to optimize manufacturing operations worldwide and align with lean manufacturing practices, with the company progressively restructuring its production footprint globally.

Production activities at Maraka Factory will be shifted to Batapur in a phased manner, with the consolidation process expected to be completed by July 30, 2026, subject to operational requirements and regulatory compliance.

The initiative aims to improve operational efficiency, enhance productivity, achieve economies of scale, and support sustainable future growth, including expansion into export markets.

The company said it does not expect any material adverse impact on its ability to meet customer demand and supply commitments during the transition period, adding that the initiative is expected to positively contribute towards operational efficiencies and cost optimization in the long term.
