Banks’ deposits near Rs41tr in June

July 23, 2026 (MLN): The total deposits held by scheduled banks have moved up by 15.18% YoY to Rs40.89 trillion in June 2026 compared to Rs35.5tr in June 2025.

According to data released by the SBP, Banks' deposits have edged higher by 8.52% MoM, compared to Rs37.68tr in May 2026.

Total advances increased by 12.96% to Rs15.27tr compared to Rs13.52tr from a year ago. On a monthly basis, advances increased by 3.72% from their value of Rs14.73tr in May 2026.

Advances to Deposit Ratio (ADR) stood at 37.36% showing a decrease of 74 bps on a yearly basis, while showing a decrease of 173 bps on a monthly basis.

Total Investments of Scheduled Banks stood at Rs42.58tr compared to Rs36.57tr from a year ago and Rs39.94tr from a month ago, showing a YoY increase of 16.44% and a MoM increase of 6.63%.

Investment to Deposit Ratio (IDR) moved up by 113 bps to 104.15% compared to June 2025 and decreased by 185 bps when compared to a month ago.
