Banks’ deposits increase by 14% YoY to Rs39tr in July

August 28, 2026 (MLN): The total deposits held by scheduled banks have moved up by 13.93% YoY to Rs39.05 trillion in July 2026 compared to Rs34.28tr in July 2025.

According to data released by the SBP, Banks' deposits have edged lower by -4.48% MoM, compared to Rs40.89tr in June 2026.

Total advances increased by 8.98% to Rs14.46tr compared to Rs13.27tr from a year ago. On a monthly basis, advances decreased by -5.3% from their value of Rs15.27tr in June 2026.

Advances to Deposit Ratio (ADR) stood at 37.04% showing a decrease of 168 bps on a yearly basis, while showing a decrease of 32 bps on a monthly basis.

Total Investments of Scheduled Banks stood at Rs40.83tr compared to Rs36.19tr from a year ago and Rs42.58tr from a month ago, showing a YoY increase of 12.82% and a MoM decrease of -4.12%.

Investment to Deposit Ratio (IDR) moved down by 102 bps to 104.55% compared to July 2025 and increased by 40 bps when compared to a month ago.
