Balochistan to solarise 8,000 rebuilt houses in Awaran

July 29, 2026 (MLN): The Balochistan government is set to
equip 8,000 reconstructed permanent houses in Awaran district with solar power
systems, completing a housing project whose cost has been revised upward from
Rs2.5bn to roughly Rs2.825bn, an increase of about 13%.
The housing scheme is being financed
by the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), APP reported.
The construction of all 8,000 houses
has already been completed, while procurement and installation of the solar
systems is still at the approval stage, pending clearance from the SFD.
Once the solarisation component is
cleared and rolled out, it will mark the final phase of the project, extending
solar power to every rebuilt house in the district.
