January 09, 2026 (MLN):  The Balochistan government is taking serious, coordinated and result-oriented steps in collaboration with the federal government to pull the province out of backwardness and integrate it into the national development mainstream.

Addressing a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that for the first time in the province’s history, 100% of the allocated development budget had been utilized in a transparent and effective manner.

He described this as clear evidence of improved planning, financial discipline and effective governance, APP reported.

The chief minister expressed gratitude to the prime minister for his special cooperation and keen interest in Balochistan’s development.

He said that on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, several major projects had been approved, including the dualization of the Quetta–Karachi National Highway, establishment of Danish Schools in the province and other key development initiatives.

He said these projects would serve as milestones in Balochistan’s social and economic progress.

Highlighting the province’s unique challenges, the chief minister said Balochistan’s vast geography, scattered population and security concerns make development more complex compared to other provinces.

Despite these difficulties, he added, the government had achieved notable success by restoring peace, promoting public welfare and ensuring continuity in development projects.

CM Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that due to its distinct economic, social and geographical conditions, Balochistan requires special and sustained attention from the federation.

He reiterated that the provincial government is working closely with the federal government to implement integrated measures aimed at overcoming deprivation and ensuring inclusive development.

Further it was said that improvements in law and order, progress on development initiatives and the overall performance of the provincial government had been acknowledged at the highest forums, which reflects that Balochistan was moving in the right direction through close coordination among federal, provincial and security institutions.
