Baku to host 3rd Islamic Finance Forum on October 22

October 20, 2026 (MLN): Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, will host the 3rd Islamic Finance Forum (IMF’26) on October 22, bringing together local and international stakeholders to discuss developments, challenges, and emerging opportunities in Islamic finance.

The event, organized by the Studying of Economic Resources Public Union (SER), aims to strengthen collaboration between public institutions, financial organizations, academia, and private businesses while supporting the growth of Azerbaijan’s Islamic finance sector.

Discussions will focus on a broad range of areas, including Islamic banking, capital markets, sukuk, takaful, microfinance, halal investments, financial technology, and digital transformation.

Green and sustainable finance, regulatory and legal frameworks, education, research, and human capital development will also feature on the agenda.

The forum is expected to attract representatives from government institutions, banks, investment and insurance companies, businesses, financial organizations, universities, research bodies, and the wider investment community.

Participants will discuss international experiences, examine practical market cases, identify potential avenues for collaboration, and establish professional connections to support the sector’s development.

The programme will feature an opening ceremony, a plenary session, panel discussions, expert presentations, and networking sessions.

Through these engagements, IMF’26 seeks to encourage new partnerships, strengthen dialogue between the public and private sectors, and facilitate the exchange of domestic and international expertise in Islamic finance.
