January 07,  2026 (MLN): BYD has once again emerged as the world’s top New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, reporting global sales exceeding 4.6 million units in 2025 and retaining its No.1 position worldwide.

The milestone emphasizes the company’s sustained momentum in the rapidly evolving electric and hybrid vehicle sector, driven by a strong focus on technological innovation, product quality and customer-centric development, according to a press release issued.

BYD also marked a significant breakthrough in its international operations, with overseas sales crossing the one-million-unit mark in a single year for the first time.

The achievement reflects growing global confidence in BYD’s expanding portfolio and its increasing footprint across key international markets.

Commenting on the performance, Lei Jian, Country Head of BYD Pakistan, described 2025 as a landmark year for the company.

“Beyond record-breaking sales, we are seeing exceptional acceptance of BYD vehicles outside our home market,” he said.

“Since our launch in Pakistan in 2024, models such as the BYD ATTO 3, BYD SEAL and BYD SHARK 6 have generated tremendous excitement. Pakistani consumers are clearly embracing advanced technologies that continue to redefine expectations in the automotive industry.”

BYD Auto, founded in 2003, is the automotive arm of BYD, a global high-tech enterprise focused on sustainable innovation.

The company specializes in pure electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles and has developed end-to-end expertise across the NEV value chain, including batteries, electric motors and electronic control systems.

Over the years, BYD has introduced several industry-leading technologies, such as the Blade Battery, DM-i and DM-p hybrid systems, e-Platform 3.0, CTB and iTAC technologies, the DiSus Intelligent Body Control System and the XUANJI Architecture.

It was also the first automaker globally to completely discontinue fossil-fuel vehicle production as part of its transition to new energy mobility.

In China, BYD has remained the top-selling new energy passenger vehicle brand for a decade.

The strong 2025 performance reinforces BYD’s long-term strategy of delivering high-performance, technologically advanced vehicles tailored to diverse global markets.

With continued investment in research and development and a growing international presence, BYD says it remains committed to shaping the future of sustainable mobility worldwide, including in Pakistan.
