September 21, 2026 (MLN): Baluchistan Glass Limited (PSX: BGL) narrowed its net loss by 27% for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, recording a net loss of Rs517.24m compared to a net loss of Rs713.46m in the preceding year.

Reflecting this deficit reduction, basic and diluted loss per share (LPS) improved to Rs0.81, down from an LPS of Rs1.85 in FY25.

The primary factors influencing the performance were a severe scale-back in sales operations alongside cost reduction measures and lower borrowing charges.

Net sales dropped by 97% year-on-year to Rs24.09m, down from Rs717.83m in FY25.

However, cost of sales also contracted by 72% to Rs330.14m, enabling the company to curtail its gross loss by 34% to Rs306.06m compared to Rs463.79m in the prior year.

On the operational front, strict cost containment helped reduce administrative and selling expenses by 71% to Rs17.42m (down from Rs60.95m in FY25).

Although "other income" fell 76% to Rs16.21m, operational cost reductions enabled the company to narrow its operating loss by 33% to Rs307.27m.

Below the operating line, BGL gained debt-servicing relief with finance costs falling 16% to Rs214.88m (down from Rs255.85m in FY25).

Combined with a 77% drop in statutory levies (Rs2.10m), loss before taxation narrowed by 27% to Rs524.25m.

The company recorded a net tax credit of Rs7.01m for the year (compared to Rs7.73m in FY25).

Backed by significant reductions in direct manufacturing costs, operating overheads, and debt-servicing expenses, Baluchistan Glass Limited closed the fiscal year with its net loss reduced to Rs517.24m.
