September 29, 2026 (MLN): BF Biosciences Limited (PSX: BFBIO) reported a 41% surge in its net profit for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, reaching Rs632.13m compared to Rs447.15m in the preceding year.

Reflecting this bottom-line performance, basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) for the year expanded to Rs7.16, up from Rs5.52 in FY25.

The primary drivers behind the performance were top-line volume expansion and a 79% surge in gross margins.

Net revenue grew by 62% year-on-year to Rs9.46bn, up from Rs5.84bn in FY25. Cost of goods sold expanded 51% to Rs5.37bn, enabling gross profit to jump to Rs4.09bn compared to Rs2.29bn in the prior year.

On the operational front, overheads expanded to support commercial scale and market outreach.

Selling and distribution expenses rose 87% to Rs2.7bn, administrative expenses increased to Rs202.50m, and other expenses rose to Rs112.68m.

Additionally, expected credit loss allowances recorded a charge of Rs4.57m (reversing a credit of Rs14.28m in FY25). Despite a 15% drop in "other income" (Rs106.85m), operating profit expanded 38% to Rs1.17bn.

Below the operating line, BFBIO gained debt-servicing relief, with finance costs falling 17% to Rs105.96m (down from Rs127.68m in FY25).

Pre-tax performance remained robust, with profit before taxation surging 47% to Rs1.06bn (after deducting minimum tax differentials of Rs10.64m).

The company absorbed a higher corporate taxation charge of Rs424.64m for the year (up 55% from Rs273.39m in FY25).

Supported by 62% top-line revenue growth, a 79% expansion in gross profit, and reduced borrowing charges, BF Biosciences Limited securely closed the fiscal year with its net profit reaching Rs632.13m.
