Attock Refinery pumps out Rs15 dividend
MG News | August 27, 2026 at 10:17 AM GMT+05:00
August 27, 2026 (MLN): Attock Refinery Limited
(PSX: ATRL) reported a remarkable 3x (191%) surge in its consolidated net
profit for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, reaching Rs26.06bn compared to
Rs8.95bn in the preceding year.
Alongside the financial results, the board recommended a
final cash dividend of Rs15 per share.
Reflecting this explosive profitability, the company's
basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) nearly tripled, jumping to Rs244.45
from Rs83.93 in FY25.
The primary catalyst behind this stellar performance was
a powerful top-line revenue expansion combined with a 3.2x (217%) surge in
gross margins.
ATRL’s net sales increased by 13% year-on-year to reach
Rs341.79bn, up from Rs301.52bn in FY25, despite absorbing Rs151.83bn in taxes,
duties, levies, and discounts.
With the cost of sales rising moderately by 6% to
Rs310.30bn, strong gross margin expansion drove gross profit up to Rs31.49bn
compared to Rs9.93bn in the prior year.
On the operational front, administration expenses rose
6% to Rs1.98bn, distribution costs increased 11% to Rs127.17m, and other
charges expanded 94% to Rs2.75bn.
Although "other income" dropped 21% to
Rs9.71bn and financial asset impairment turned to a loss of Rs17.63m, strong
core gross margin growth propelled operating profit up by 93% to Rs36.32bn.
Below the operating line, ATRL benefited from
debt-servicing relief, with finance costs dropping 28% to Rs377.19m (down from
Rs526.21m in FY25).
Furthermore, non-refinery operations staged a massive
recovery, contributing a net positive income of Rs4.54bn (reversing a net loss
of Rs2.20bn in FY25), spearheaded by a share of profit from associates of
Rs4.89bn.
The company absorbed a 103% higher taxation charge of
Rs14.42bn for the year (up from Rs7.11bn in FY25).
Supported by top-line revenue growth, expanded refining
margins, lower finance costs, and associate profit recovery, Attock Refinery
Limited securely closed the fiscal year with a 191% leap in final net profit,
settling at Rs26.06bn.
