ATRL schedules short maintenance shutdown
MG News | January 02, 2026 at 05:02 PM GMT+05:00
January 02, 2026 (MLN): Attock Refinery Limited (PSX: ATRL) will shut down its main crude distillation unit, HBU-I, with a capacity of 32,400 barrels per day, for three to four days starting January 4, 2026, to carry out essential maintenance work.
The decision follows low availability of crude oil and
reduced upliftment of petrol (PMG) and high-speed diesel (HSD) by oil marketing
companies during December 2025, which resulted in elevated product inventories
at the refinery.
During the shutdown period, other crude units will continue
operating, while downstream processing units will run under normal conditions, according to the company's statement on PSX revealed today.
The company has assured that committed supply volumes and
uninterrupted dispatches for the month will be maintained despite the temporary
suspension of the main unit.
