ARPL posts solid gains, lifts profit to Rs778m in H1

April 29, 2026 (MLN): Archroma Pakistan Limited (PSX: ARPL) reported a robust 22.65% year-on-year expansion in profit for the period for the six months ended March 31, 2026, recording Rs777.82m compared to Rs634.20m in the corresponding period last year.

The company's earnings per share (EPS) climbed 22.62% to Rs22.50, up from Rs18.35 in H1FY25, showing meaningful value accretion for shareholders during the period.

ARPL's net sales posted a 2.64% year-on-year increase, rising to Rs15.02bn from Rs14.64bn.

Cost of sales declined marginally by 0.89% to Rs11.17bn from Rs11.27bn, providing a favourable cost dynamic.

This allowed gross profit to expand by a healthy 14.45% to Rs3.85bn from Rs3.37bn.

Distribution and marketing expenses rose a contained 3.05% to Rs1.85bn while administrative expenses moderated by 4.48% to Rs484.96m.

 Other operating expenses rose 44.87% to Rs103.32m from Rs71.32m. The combined effect resulted in operating profit expanding by 42.74% to Rs1.42bn from Rs992.69m.

Other income, however, contracted by 36.49% to Rs79.80m from Rs125.66m, partially offsetting the operational gains. Finance costs declined by 22.64% to Rs184.17m from Rs238.08m, providing a meaningful tailwind.

Profit before minimum, final and income taxes stood at Rs1.31bn, a 49.11% increase from Rs880.28m in H1FY25. After minimum and final tax charges of Rs59.89m, profit before income tax reached Rs1.25bn, a 50.26% expansion from Rs833.74m.

The income tax charge more than doubled to Rs474.91m from Rs199.54m, showing the significantly higher taxable profit base, partially absorbing the strong pre-tax gains.

After accounting for taxation, Archroma Pakistan Limited closed the six-month period with a profit for the period of Rs777.82m, representing a 22.65% expansion over the Rs634.20m reported in the corresponding period of last year.
