Jul 01, 2022 (MLN): The Weekly Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the Combined Group increased by 3.63% during the week ended Jun 30, 2022 while the SPI increased by 32.01% compared to the corresponding period from last year.

According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) the Combined Index was at 197.92 compared to 190.98 on Jun 26, 2022 while the index was recorded at 149.93 a year ago, on Jul 01, 2021

Out of the 51 monitored items, the average price of 28 items increased, 6 items decreased whereas 17 items registered no change during the week.

The weekly SPI percentage change by income groups showed that SPI increased across all quantiles ranging between 2.84% and 4.87%.

The Lowest Income Group witnessed a weekly increase of 3.79% while the highest income group recorded an increase of 3%.

On a yearly basis, analysis of SPI change across different income segments showed that SPI increased across all quantiles ranging between 26.79% and 32.77%.

Yearly SPI for the Lowest Income Group increased by 26.79% while the highest income group recorded an increase of 32.77%.

The average price of Sona urea stood at Rs.2155 per 50 kg bag which is 0.8% higher than last week’s price and 23.21% higher when compared to last year.

Meanwhile, average Cement price was recorded at Rs.1022 per 50 kg bag, which is 0.2% higher than the previous week and 59.44% higher than prices last year.
