WAPDA completes feasibility report of Harpo Skardu hydropower project

Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has completed feasibility report of 34.5 MW capacity Harpo Skardu Hydropower Project.

Project Director, Harpo Power Project, Iltaf Qadir while talking to reporters said feasibility study of the mega project has been completed and upon completion would produce 34.5megawatt electricity for people.

The project will be completed with an estimated cost of over Rs9.5 billion in three years, he said.

He said German Department KFOW and AFD of France will donate eight percent amount while twenty percent would be utilized under Public Sector Development Programme. The project after completion will immensely help overcome energy shortage at Baltistan divisions.

Qadir said this was a mega project in Gilgit Baltistan that would help promote infant and industrial units in the province.
