Urea sales witness a rise of 5.7% during June, 2019

July 25, 2019 (MLN): Urea sales witnessed a rise of 5.7 percent during the month of June 2019, as the total offtake during this period stood at 643 thousand tonnes as compared to the same period of last year.

The offtake of urea during June, 2019 increased by 5, 9 and 12 percent in Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan respectively, whereas it decreased by 10 percent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over June 2018.

Total urea availability during June 2019 was about 824 thousand tonnes, which comprised of 266 thousand tonnes of previous month leftover and 558 thousand tonnes of domestic production. With an offtake of 643 thousand tonnes, the closing balance works out to be 178 thousand tonnes.

On the contrary, the cumulative urea offtake during first three months of Kharif 2019 was 1,528 thousand tonnes, showing an increase of 3.4 percent over the same period of last year.
