Trade deficit has decreased to $3.192 billion in July, a decreased of about 16.15% from the $3.807 billion reported in the previous month (June), according to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
On a year on year basis, trade deficit has however increased by 0.31% in dollar terms, as the deficit in July 2017 stood at $3.182 billion.
Exports, on a month on month basis, have declined by 12.77% as a exports were recorded at $1.646 billion in July 2018, compared to the $1.887 billion worth of exports in the previous month. On a yearly basis, however, exports have witnessed an increase of 1.17% as the export figure for July 2017 stood at $1.627 billion.
Imports too have declined by 15.03%, outpacing the decline in exports, as the country imported $4.838 billion worth of products in July 2018, compared to $5.694 billion in the previous month. On a yearly basis, imports have however increased by 0.6% as the import bill for the country in July 2017 stood at $4.809 billion.
