December 02, 2022 (MLN): The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs11.7 per kg for domestic and commercial consumers for December 2022, notification issued by the regulator on Thursday informed.

The increase in price is primarily due to the surging prices of imported Propane and Butane by Saudi Aramco.

With this increase in prices, the domestic gas cylinder weighing 11.8 kilograms is now available at Rs2,548, while the commercial cylinder of 45.4kg stood at Rs 9,804. Furthermore, a kilogram of LPG will be available at Rs216.

The maximum producer price for domestic cylinders with General Sales Tax (GST) has been fixed at Rs2,065 inclusive of the producer price of Rs1,709, petroleum levy of Rs55, and GST Rs300.

Meanwhile, the maximum LPG consumer price of domestic cylinders is fixed at Rs2,548 inclusive of marketing, distribution, and transportation Rs413 and GST Rs70.

Earlier on Wednesday, the government decided to decline the price of Kerosene Oil by Rs10 in order to provide relief to the lower segment of the population in the winter season. On the other hand, OGRA has increased the price of LPG significantly which is counted as one of the basic needs of people in the presence of gas load-shedding.

The LPG prices will be regulated with a maximum price at all levels of the supply chain.

However, producers, marketing companies, and distributors may sell below the maximum price determined from time to time
