September 28, 2018: Tariq Haleem has been elected unopposed as the chairman of Pakistan Ship’s Agents Association (PSAA) for the year 2018-19.
He is also the Vice President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) and Vice President of Pakistan Stevedores Conference (G) Limited (PSCL).
Owing to his experience and close involvement in the shipping/maritime industry and FPCCI, he can perceive things from the perspective of both an importer and an exporter as a representative of the shipping and port sector and of the trading community.
During his speech, he expressed his intention to enhance Pakistan’s exports through better and closer collaboration between the maritime sector, business community and the government especially with a view.
He acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the outgoing chairman of PSAA Mr. Mohammed A. Rajpar and his team to cater to the needs and interests of Ports and Shipping sector, which is vital for the development and economic progress of the country.
The association was formed in 1976 and is the largest and hoariest Trade Association representing Shipping Lines/Agents. Its 60 members handle all types of cargo, that is, containerized cargo, liquid cargo and dry bulk cargo at Pakistani seaports.
