March 14, 2019 (MLN): Sanjwal Solar Power (Pvt.) Limited has approached the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for the grant of a modification in the existing SSPPL Generation License, pursuant to NEPRA Licensing Regulations, 1999 for Application and Modification Procedure.

SSPL has stated that the existing Generation License issued to the company for supplying to IESCO as an Independent Power Producer did not materialize, therefore it is intending to utilize the existing solar based generation facility for supplying to POF Sanjwal and wheeling the surplus available after meeting the requirement of POF Sanjwal to POF Wah.

In this regard, an application has been submitted to IESCO and the case for wheeling of electricity is under process.

SSPPL has further indicated that no impact will be occurred on the tariff, quality of service and the performance by the licensee of its obligations under the license. However, only wheeling charges will be paid by the company.
