February 10, 2022: Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) has appreciated Honourable Sindh High Court for withdrawing its own demolition order against a high-rise building Al Jannat Royal Residency in Garden West area Karachi after investigative initiative and restoring the confidence of builders, developers, investors and the general public, a press release said today.

The association hoped that courts will follow the suit in future, too.

Chairman ABAD Mohsin Sheikhani, Senior Vice Chairman Hanif Memon, Vice Chairman Abdul Sattar Kantawala and Chairman Southern Region Sufian Adhia, in a joint statement, said that the confidence of builders, developers, investors and the general public was shaken after the demolition of Nasla Tower but Sindh High Court has restored confidence when the court withdrawn its own demolition order against Al Jannat Royal Residency after Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) presented the true picture. They said that builders, developers and international investors were confused and stopped their works on projects and investment after the demolition of Nasla Tower, which was built with approvals of all concerned authorities and government departments.

According to details of the Al Jannat Royal Residency case, a petition was filed before honourable Sindh High Court against builders of the said building on misleading facts that the SBCA had approved ground plus six floors for the building but the builder has built ground plus eight floors in violation of the approved plan. The court ordered to demolish illegal floors on 4th February but the next day when SBCA presented an original approved plan of ground plus eight floors, the court withdrew its orders of demolition.

Office Bearers of ABAD said that the Honourable Sindh High Court, realizing the ground reality taken a bold step to save the investment of millions of rupees of people. We hope all courts will follow the same suit to restore the confidence of people and construction industry and the national economy.
