Shipping activity at Port Qasim, Pakistan

Two ships, Clipper Viking and Lumphini Park carrying Chemicals and Palm Oil were allotted berths at Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Monday.

Meanwhile two more ships, Container Vessel MSC Al-Bany and Gas carrier Ejnan also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Monday morning.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the port at forty seven percent on Sunday where a total of eight ships namely, APL Antwerp, Stavanger Bliss, Lumphini Park, Clipper Viking, Da Liang, Le Cong, Young Harmony and Daphne are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Crude Oil, Palm oil, Chemicals, General Cargo, Coal and Canola Seeds.

A cargo volume of 100,203 tonnes, comprising 43,772 tonnes import cargo and 56,431 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,059 containers (TEUs),(42 TEUs imports and 1,017 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.

Four ships, APL Antwerp, Stavanger Bliss, Lumphini Park and Clipper Viking are expected to sail on Monday morning. Five ships, MSC Albany, Express Kailash, Union Explorar, Chemroad Mega and Ejnan carrying Containers, Coal, Palm oil and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT, PQEPT, LCT and EETL respectively on Monday. While three more ships Maerks Altana, CMA CGM Indus and MSC Al-Ghero with Containers are due to arrive at PQ on Tuesday.
