September exports down 0.91%YoY

October 4, 2022 (MLN): Exports during the month of September fell by 0.91%YoY to $2.4 billion, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics reported on Tuesday. 

Imports declined by 19.72% to $5.3bn from $6.6bn during the same period last year. 

The trade deficit during the last month narrowed by 30.6%YoY to $2.8bn compared to $4.1bn during the preceding year. 

On a month-on-month basis, trade deficit decreased by 20% from $3.6bn in the preceding month. 

Overall, during the 1QFY23, exports inched up by 1.8%YoY to $7.1bn, imports declined by 12.7% to 16.3bn whereas the trade deficit clocked in at $9.2bn.
