SBP’s reserves decline by $1.64bn WoW

October 22, 2021 (MLN): The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 24,327.4 million on October 15, 2021.

The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:

i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 17,492.2 million

ii) Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks: US$ 6,835.2 million

iii) Total liquid foreign reserves: US$ 24,327.4 million

During the week ended October 15, 2021, SBP’s reserves decreased by US$ 1,646 million to US$ 17,492.2 million, mainly due to external debt repayment that included repayment of US$ 1,000 million against Pakistan International Sukuk.
