Sale of securities via SCRA falls by 29.5 percent: SBP

 May 6, 2020 (MLN): The gross sale of securities via Special Convertible Rupee Account (SCRA), during the week ended April 24, 2020 was recorded at Rs.56.8 billion, which is around 29.5 percent lower than the figures recorded last week.

According to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs.23.1 billion, which is 70.9 percent lower than the prior week.

Consequently, the net sale of securities for the week ended April 24, 2020 clocked in at Rs.33.68 billion, i.e. around Rs.32.75 billion lower than last week's numbers.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities declined by Rs.56.53 billion while the net sale of securities tumbled by Rs.23.78 billion.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs.1.36 billion, while its outflow has been reported at Rs.31.02 billion.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs.36.25 billion, which marks a rise of Rs.4.22 billion over the week.
