Sale of Fertilizer during September grows by 9.6% YoY

October 26, 2020 (MLN): The total nutrient offtake during the month of September 2020 was about 382 thousand tonnes, which recorded an increase of 9.6 percent over September 2019.

Nitrogen offtake increased by 5.2 per cent whereas phosphate offtake increased by 15.8 per cent. Potash offtake also surged by 57.2 percent.

The total nutrient offtake during Kharif 2020 was 2554 thousand tonnes which showed an increase of 13.2 per cent over Kharif 2019. Nitrogen and phosphate offtake increased by 10.0 and 22.2 per cent, respectively while potash offtake increased by 46.5 per cent over Kharif 2019.

Imported supplies during September, 2020 were 210 thousand tonnes comprising 180 thousand tonnes of DAP, 3 thousand tonnes of SOP, 5 thousand tonnes of MOP, 0.1 thousand tonnes of MAP and 22 thousand tonne of AS.

Total production of all fertilizer products during September 2020 was 730 thousand tonnes comprising urea 563, DAP 72, CAN 35, NP 38, and SSP 9.9, NPK 12 and SOP 0.9 thousand tonnes.

During September 2020, the prices of all the fertilizer products increased compared with previous month. The price of urea (sona) and urea (other) increased by 1.0 and 1.3 per cent over August 2020. Prices of DAP and NP increased by 6.3 and 5.9 per cent respectively. The prices of CAN and SOP increased by 0.6 and 0.3 per cent while price of NPK increased by 0.6 percent.
