January 21, 2020 (MLN): Safe Solar Power Pvt Limited (SSPPL) has filed an application of License Proposed Modification (LPM) in the existing generation license to NEPRA to change the type/technology of its solar power plant to Bifacial Monocrystalline Trina Solar DuoMax from the existing Poly Crystalline Photovoltaic (PV) Cell.

According to the NEPRA, as a result of the requested changes, the number of panels shall decrease to 23,896 units from 33,166 units and installed capacity will decrease from 10.28 MWp to 10.275 MWp. Whereas, Maximum Power would increase from 310Wp to 430 Wp. In addition to this, the commercial operation is expected to start from December 01, 2021.

The key objective behind modification in generation license is to have the latest technology available for the project. The previous panel selected by the SSPPL has now been upgraded for improved performance and output.

Further, SSPPL has submitted a separate tariff petition for the determination of generation tariff for its subject power plant.

Moreover, the quality of service and performance and obligations of the SSPPL under the generation license will not be affected by the proposed modifications.
