November 30, 2018 (MLN): Following the sharp depreciation of Rupee at interbank market today, Pakistan’s debt burden has enhanced by around Rs.760 billion.

The Rupee depreciated by 6.5% in early trade at the interbank market.

It is probable that the unexpected appreciation of dollar by almost Rs.10 is in line with the government's plan to fulfill International Monitory Fund (IMF)'s conditions for a bailout.

The Rupee was quoted at 141.29/75 against USD, marking a depreciation of over 5%.

From January 2018 till date, PKR has depreciated by 28%.
