Rs. 400.225 million under PSDP to improve food security, research

The government has so far released Rs 400.225 million for different projects of Ministry of National Food Security and Research under its Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the year 2017-18 as against the total allocation of Rs 1615.976 million in order to promote and develop the agriculture and livestock sector in the country.

The government has released Rs 103 million for risk based control of foot and mouth diseases project as against the allocation of Rs 134.920 million for current financial year, according the data of Planning Commission of Pakistan.

An amount of Rs 100 million was released for promotion of olive cultivation on commercial scale in Pakistan project as compared the total allocation Rs 500 million for current financial year in order to promote oil seed production in the country.

Under PSDP 2017-18, the government has provided Rs 56.862 million for national pesticides residue monitoring system in the country as the an amount of 284.3 million has been allocated in current year's PSDP.

In order to promote aqua culture and enhance fisheries production in the country, the government has released Rs 8.35 million for aqua feed production for commercially important culture able fishes as compared the total allocation of Rs 48.174 million.

In PSDP 2017-18, the government had allocated Rs 36.991 million for the development of clean and true to type fruit plant nurseries at national level and released Rs 7.398 million for the project and Rs 8 million for establishment of animal quarantine station and Rs 7.694 million for the establishment of livestock research institute Khuzdar Balochistan.
