November 1, 2021 (MLN): Roshan Packages Limited (RPL) has announced its financial results for the first quarter ended on September 30, 2020, as per which, the profitability of the company shrunk by 88.27% YoY, stood at Rs33.13 million (EPS: 0.06), compared to the profit of Rs95mn (EPS: 0.55) in 1QFY21.
The top line of the company increased by 16% YoY to clock in at Rs1.92bn during the period under review, but the jump in the cost of revenue by 20% has badly hit the gross profit (GP) as it made to contract the GP by 13% YoY compared to Rs208mn in SPLY.
On the expense side, the selling and distribution expenses have moved up by 35% YoY while the administrative expenses inched up by 5% YoY. The company also witnessed a substantial increase in its non-core expenses by 2.5x, adding pressure to the bottom line.
Furthermore, the company paid Rs24.51bn in terms of taxation during 1QFY22, 12.19% YoY higher than the taxes paid in SPLY.
