June 24, 2019 (MLN): Qatar is expected to extend a sum of $3 billion to Pakistan under direct investment, reported the state-run Qatar News Agency.

As per these reports, the economic partnership between Qatar and Pakistan will reach $9 billion after this investment.

This announcement dropped after a visit from Qatar’s Emir to Pakistan in which the two parties agreed to take the measures necessary to enhance the bilateral cooperation in diverse areas including trade, energy, oil and gas exploration, besides tourism and defense.

Surrounded with gloomy economic conditions, the government is seeking loans from gulf countries and international donors to stabilize the shaky economy.

In a tweet today, Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Dr. Hafeez shaikh said, “ want to thank the Emir of Qatar HRH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani for announcing US$3 Billion in deposits and direct investments for Pakistan and for Qatar's affirmation to further develop relations between the two countries. ”
