March 28, 2022 (MLN): The local bourse witnessed dull activity during most of the session, however, the market showed some buying activity towards the end of session, leading KSE100 up by 382 points or 0.88% DoD to close at 43,934 level.

The political situation in the country has kept the market under pressure for some time, however, market witnessed recovery in the second half where media reporting PM Imran Khan have given green signal to its allies demand for official appointments resultantly market make an intraday high of 382 points, closing note by Topline Securities said.

The Index traded in a range of 642.53 points or 1.48 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 43,933.56 and a low of 43,291.03.

Of the 95 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 68 closed up 20 closed down, while 7 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 59.11 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Cement with 120 points, Commercial Banks with 50 points, Automobile Assembler with 48 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 40 points and Pharmaceuticals with 21 points.

The most points added to the index was by LUCK which contributed 56 points followed by MTL with 37 points, OGDC with 23 points, DGKC with 23 points and TRG with 17 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Chemical with 18 points, Tobacco with 3 points and Food & Personal Care Products with 2 points.

The most points taken off the index was by COLG which stripped the index of 13 points followed by POL with 10 points, FFC with 9 points, ENGRO with 8 points and EPCL with 4 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 29.30 Million to 132.64 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.59.34 Billion.

Total companies traded were 328 compared to 320 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 216 closed up, 87 closed down while 25 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 816 to 71,870.

Value Traded increased by 0.66 Billion to Rs.4.80 Billion
