July 2, 2021 (MLN): Following the upward momentum from the previous trading day, the capital market remained in the green zone in the first half of the session. However, the benchmark KSE-100 Index snapped its three-day winning streak on Friday on the back of selling pressure across the board.

At the end of trading, the Index recorded a negative close of 114.39 points or a 0.24 percent decline to settle at 47,686 level.

The Index traded in a range of 446.91 points or 0.93 percent of the previous close, showing an intraday high of 48,081.90 and a low of 47,634.99.

Of the 91 traded companies in the KSE100 Index, 30 closed up 60 closed down, while 1 remained unchanged. The total volume traded for the index was 170.92 million shares.

Sector-wise, the index was let down by Power Generation & Distribution with 24 points, Commercial Banks with 22 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 18 points, Cement with 17 points and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 15 points.

The most points taken off the index was by HUBC which stripped the index of 24 points followed by PPL with 14 points, CHCC with 13 points, HASCOL with 12 points and MCB with 12 points.

Sectors propping up the index were Fertilizer with 14 points, Pharmaceuticals with 13 points, Technology & Communication with 9 points, Engineering with 4 points and Insurance with 2 points.

The most points added to the index was by LUCK which contributed 21 points followed by AGP with 19 points, TRG with 13 points, KOHC with 8 points and FFC with 8 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 196.20 Million to 563.81 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.24.91 Billion.

Total companies traded were 414 compared to 421 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 175 closed up, 224 closed down while 15 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 276 to 170,930.

Value Traded increased by 0.07 Billion to Rs.16.33 Billion
