January 4, 2022 (MLN): Following yesterday’s momentum, bulls continued to lead the capital market on Tuesday on the back of investors’ confidence in the scrips of technology and refinery sectors.

Resultantly, the benchmark KSE100 index settled the trading session at 45,390.84 with a gain of 503.95 points. Meanwhile, It is pertinent to mention that the index has closed up for the last six sessions, gaining 1,477 points or 3.36%.

The Index remained positive throughout the session touching an intraday high of 45,407.16

Of the 95 traded companies in the KSE100 index, 78 closed up 13 closed down, while 4 remained unchanged. The total volume traded for the index was 134.27 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Technology & Communication with 112 points, Cement with 72 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 59 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 42 points, and Pharmaceuticals with 36 points.

The most points added to the index were by TRG which contributed 57 points followed by SYS with 40 points, LUCK with 33 points, HUBC with 31 points, and UNITY with 24 points.

Sector-wise, the index was let down by Automobile Parts & Accessories with 2 points, Fertilizer with 2 points, and Real Estate Investment Trust with 1 point.

The most points taken off the index was by ENGRO which stripped the index of 8 points followed by KTML with 6 points, UBL with 6 points, ILP with 5 points and BAFL with 4 points.

All Share Volume increased by 180.82 million to 375.99 million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs87.78 billion.

Total companies traded were 376 compared to 362 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 266 closed up, 86 closed down while 24 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 60,504 to 153,991.

Value Traded increased by 6.26 billion to Rs12.78 billion
