PSX Closing Bell: Overture

March 31, 2022 (MLN): The domestic equity market recouped well today as it gained 591 points or up by 1.33% from yesterday’s session to close the day at 44,929 points level.

The positive rumors surrounding the political situation in the country boosted the investors’ confidence. The bourse also took positive cues from
international markets as easing oil prices also tend to provide relief to investors, a note by Aba Ali Habib Securites cited

The Index remained positive throughout the session touching an intraday high of 44,928.83 points.

Of the 97 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 86 closed up 9 closed down, while 2 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 165.24 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Technology & Communication with 118 points, Fertilizer with 87 points, Commercial Banks with 68 points, Cement with 41 points and Food & Personal Care Products with 36 points.

The most points added to the index was by SYS which contributed 92 points followed by FFC with 34 points, ENGRO with 27 points, EPCL with 26 points and MCB with 22 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by

The most points taken off the index was by HBL which stripped the index of 13 points followed by UBL with 6 points, HUBC with 3 points, PPL with 2 points and ATLH with 1 point.

All Share Volume increased by 71.50 Million to 415.63 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.101.81 Billion.

Total companies traded were 362 compared to 354 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 273 closed up, 75 closed down while 14 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 1,878 to 123,295.

Value Traded increased by 1.90 Billion to Rs.9.68 Billion
