PSX Closing Bell: KSE100 down 251 points

August 11, 2022 (MLN): Pakistan sotck market remained range bound today amid sluggish activity.

The market opened on a positive note,  however, profit taking was witnessed at the end of the session, leading the bourse to made an intraday low of 279 points, before finally settling at 42,243 points, down by 252 points or 0.59% DoD.

The Index traded in a range of 463.64 points or 1.09 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 42,678.27 and a low of 42,214.63.

Of the 97 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 29 closed up 66 closed down, while 2 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 128.32 million shares.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Commercial Banks with 82 points, Fertilizer with 48 points, Technology & Communication with 44 points, Cement with 21 points and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 18 points.

The most points taken off the index was by HBL which stripped the index of 59 points followed by SYS with 24 points, EFERT with 21 points, TRG with 17 points and ENGRO with 14 points.

Sectors propping up the index were Automobile Parts & Accessories with 6 points, Synthetic & Rayon with 5 points, Property with 3 points, Automobile Assembler with 3 points and Food & Personal Care Products with 2 points.

The most points added to the index was by NBP which contributed 17 points followed by MTL with 11 points, LUCK with 9 points, PSO with 7 points and MEBL with 6 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 91.45 Million to 281.73 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.5.73 Billion.

Total companies traded were 343 compared to 350 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 130 closed up, 193 closed down while 20 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 40,451 to 124,171.

Value Traded decreased by 5.44 Billion to Rs.7.80 Billion
