June 10, 2022 (MLN): The capital market on Friday witnessed a dull trading session as investors were eyeing the announcement of the federal budget 2022-2023.

However, in the last trading hour buying activity was observed across the bourse which led the benchmark KSE-100 index to gain 278 points to settle at 42,014.73.

The Index traded in a range of 361.09 points or 0.87 percent of the previous close, showing an intraday high of 42,076.14 and a low of 41,715.05.

Of the 90 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 63 closed up 23 closed down, while 4 remained unchanged. The total volume traded for the index was 39.39 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 64 points, Fertilizer with 57 points, Automobile Assembler with 41 points, Technology & Communication with 29 points, and Chemical with 27 points.

The most points added to the index was by MTL which contributed 32 points followed by OGDC with 26 points, PPL with 23 points, SYS with 23 points, and ENGRO with 20 points.

Sector-wise, the index was let down by Commercial Banks with 12 points, Automobile Parts & Accessories with 10 points, Leather & Tanneries with 6 points, Food & Personal Care Products with 4 points, and Engineering with 2 points.

The most points taken off the index was by BAHL which stripped the index of 17 points followed by THALL with 10 points, NBP with 8 points, MEBL with 7 points and SRVI with 6 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 119.48 Million to 115.87 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.48.72 Billion.

Total companies traded were 315 compared to 328 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 185 closed up, 99 closed down while 31 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 36,170 to 62,472.

Value Traded decreased by 2.40 Billion to Rs.3.07 Billion
