May 16, 2023 (MLN): The benchmark KSE100 index ended the trading session on Tuesday with a gain of 287.82 points to close at 42,006.25.

The Index traded in a range of 363.15 points of the previous close, showing an intraday high of 42,081.57 and a low of 41,718.42.

Of the 93 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 51 closed up 37 closed down, while 5 remained unchanged. The total volume traded for the index was 101.39 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 109 points, Commercial Banks with 64 points, Fertilizer with 44 points, Miscellaneous with 27 points and Paper & Board with 12 points.

The most points added to the index were by UBL which contributed 55 points followed by OGDC with 51 points, POL with 42 points, PPL with 30 points and PSEL with 27 points.

Sector-wise, the index was let down by Cement with 11 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 7 points, Pharmaceuticals with 2 points, Textile Composite and Food & Personal Care Products with 1 point each.

The most points taken off the index was by MARI which stripped the index of 14 points followed by HUBC with 10 points, MLCF with 6 points, CHCC and SYS with 5 points each.

All Share Volume increased by 87.07 Million to 196.24 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.34.02 Billion.

The total number of companies traded were 324 compared to 311 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 178 closed up, 120 closed down while 26 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 14,468 to 78,772.

Value Traded increased by 2.38 Billion to Rs.5.77 Billion.
