PSX Closing Bell: A Whiter Shade of Pale

April 16, 2021 (MLN): The capital markets on Friday traded in a narrow range as lack of fresh triggers intimidated investors' risk appetite, represented by lower volume at 173.52 million shares of the trading value of Rs 8.74 billion.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded the trading session with a nominal gain of 75.45 points or 0.17 percent increase to close at 45,305.63 mark.

The Index remained positive throughout the session touching an intraday high of 45,467.33

Of the 91 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 51 closed up 37 closed down, while 3 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 55.28 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 27 points, Technology & Communication with 19 points, Fertilizer with 18 points, Automobile Assembler with 13 points and Automobile Parts & Accessories with 10 points.

The most points added to the index was by ENGRO which contributed 16 points followed by TRG with 15 points, HBL with 9 points, HUBC with 7 points and PSMC with 7 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Tobacco with 11 points, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 10 points, Cement with 5 points, Textile Composite with 4 points and Pharmaceuticals with 2 points.

The most points taken off the index was by PAKT which stripped the index of 11 points followed by DGKC with 7 points, FCCL with 5 points, PPL with 5 points and FFBL with 4 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 174.14 Million to 173.52 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.0.62 Billion.

Total companies traded were 366 compared to 374 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 207 closed up, 139 closed down while 20 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 40,088 to 69,691.

Value Traded decreased by 3.86 Billion to Rs.8.74 Billion
